Now that you’ve claimed your Business’s BuildZoom Profile and spent a few minutes setting up your project preferences, we’ll now move into the phase of customizing two (2) of the most important customer-centric aspects of your profile.
There will always be those who have a need and how you win as the Business Owner is by being prepared. Now,
we aren’t talking about having a 24/7 hotline or hiring a sign spinner to stand outside of the local grocery store. Because BuildZoom allows you to leverage the power of the online world, all you have to do is be the expert!
Based on our data, there are two main aspects that help a customer understand why your company is the expert and a good fit for their project or specific needs:
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
- 1. High-Quality Photos (that match their project specifications, material type or application)
-
- 2. Location, Location, Location
- We understand many different aspects play a role in a Homeowner’s decision to hire a professional for their project (we’ll discuss many more of those attributes in a future post).
- For now, you may be asking yourself, “Why does BuildZoom care so much about photos and location?”
- The simple answer- high-quality photos and accurate location information carry the greatest amount of impact on the homeowner’s perception of whether a contractor meets their needs.
- The most successful BuildZoom contractors are able to quickly and effectively
show the customer where and why they are an expert and communicate (sometimes without words) why they have what it takes to solve their problem. This ah-ha moment, will actually create a psychological shift in a homeowners thought process, because as they are exposed to the photos of your work, a positive outlook on your company begins to form.
- The vision that was once just a figment of their imagination, has now become reality.
- In order to make the best use of your time, please log-in to your BuildZoom Dashboard and follow these steps to ensure Homeowners are meeting an expert.
- Upon entering the home page of your dashboard, your page will automatically open the “Home” screen. First step to begin customizing the photos that appear on your profile, you will want to ensure that you have pre-selected the specific photos you want to upload from your computer or mobile device. If you have not done so already, we recommend taking a few moments to do so, prior to moving on to the next step.
- Now that you have selected the pictures, find the “Photo Galleries” icon on the left side of the page and click the button. This will take you to the Profile Photo page where you can begin uploading photos. On the Profile Photos page, there will be 4 photo type options - add a gallery, Featured Profile Photos, Featured Search Page Photo & Advertising Photo.
- Example:
-
-
-
-
-
Each type of photo is specific to the customer experience and dictates when they will see each picture. For example - You can add one photo to be featured with your profile on BuildZoom’s contractor search pages and create custom folders for specific fencing types.
To upload a photo, click on the photo options (Profile or Search page) and a new window will appear. Select the file you want uploaded and click “save”. Repeat this process to upload additional photos and or to create specific project folders. We recommend grouping photos into individual projects or by the types of work that your company specializes in.
For example- If your company specializes in residential fencing, it would be more impactful to the Homeowner if they only saw 3 high quality photos of wood and ornamental fencing instead of 25 photos that were taken on an mobile phone, ranging from installation of block walls, commercial gates and a few close up pictures of what could be a cedar privacy fence…. You probably get the point but it’s worth reiterating that less is more here.
*Pro Tip - each region of the U.S. caters to specific trends or styles in fencing products. Make sure you are seen as the expert in your market. Homeowners are looking to solve a problem, photos will help them know you have the solution!
